Changing the Face of Beauty with New Technology - Yahoo! Voices
The anti-aging skin care industry is one of the fastest growing markets in America as the aging baby boomer generation looks for ways to keep their skin healthy and attractive. New technologies have been announced for dermatologists and doctors' offices, but it is even more exciting when a new technology in skin care comes along for in-home use. An Independent Shop Girl Opens Shop
So... it has been a while since I have written here. When I started this blog I was working in the cosmetics and men's departments of a major retail department store chain, selling makeup, skin care, fragrances and clothes and dealing with the frustrations of working with erratic managers and political correctness run amok.
I wrote about disgruntled employees in 2009 as I watched one after another good employee overworked, underpaid, abused and even assaulted on the job.
A few years later they closed my store, and I lost my shop girl job. It was for the best.
Now I have started a new business in skin care as an independent skin care consultant. I plan to record some of my trials and triumphs as a self-employed shop girl here so you can join me on my new adventure.

Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement: Thou Shalt Not Steal
While I do not claim to be an expert in copyright law, I have learned a few simple rules which I see broken again and again on websites, blogs and discussion forums. I have become more and more amazed by the amount of plagiarism that seems to be accepted. Much of it, I believe, is due to ignorance and not malicious intent.

Sponsored Tweets: Smart Idea or Twitter Spam?
IZEA's Sponsored Tweets launched last fall, and I heard about celebrities getting paid to tweet specific products. When I heard regular tweeters could get paid, I looked into it. I decided not to sign up for two reasons: 1. I had made the decision not to grant any applications access to my Twitter account and 2. It sounded a bit spammy.

A massive earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday, January 12. The epicenter of the quake was located just 10 miles from the capital city of Port-au-Prince. The earthquake measured 7.3 on the Richter scale, and caused the collapse of many buildings on the island nation including at least one hospital.
